Analysis: After facing just one batter in his last start because of a long rain delay that followed, Stratton improved to 3-1 with a 2.17 ERA and 1.31 WHIP with 30 strikeouts over 29 innings in his last six outings. He takes the ball Sunday at Dodger Stadium.

Analysis: After Stratton struck out Curtis Granderson to start the game, there was a near 3-hour rain delay, thus why Stratton had an abbreviated outing. His next scheduled start is Sunday versus Arizona, a team against which he has a 3.27 ERA in two matchups this year despite allowing nine hits and nine walks in 11 innings.

Analysis: Stratton's scoreless streak of 12 2/3 innings over his past two outings is the longest by a Giants rookie starter since Chris Heston's 16 1/3 innings from July 1-12, 2015. He's had seven days between each of his last two starts but will get a more regular turn in the rotation going forward even with Johnny Cueto nearing a return. "Oh, he's earned his spot," manager Bruce Bochy said of Stratton. "We have options. Maybe we'll go to a six-man (rotation)."
